1. Scope
This draft explains the cookies and browser-storage technologies used by pawshare.co.uk. Cookies are small values stored by a browser and sent with later requests. Local storage keeps values in the browser without attaching them to every request.
Back to contents2. Strictly necessary authentication
- Supabase Auth session cookies keep signed-in users authenticated, refresh sessions, and protect access to account areas. Their names and duration are controlled by the active Supabase Auth configuration.
- The pawshare_demo_user cookie supports explicitly selected dummy test accounts. It is HTTP-only, uses SameSite=Lax, is scoped to Pawshare, and can remain for up to 30 days unless the user signs out sooner.
- Security and routing cookies may be set by hosting infrastructure where required to deliver and protect the service.
3. Functional browser storage
Pawshare uses local storage for interface and workflow preferences such as saved search filters, onboarding dismissals, dashboard prompts, admin sidebar state, favourite collections, care-request templates, local drafts, capacity preferences, and development-only wallet or messaging state where those test features are enabled.
These values normally remain until the feature removes them, the browser clears site data, or the user clears browser storage. They are not intended for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Back to contents4. Third-party services
Google and Meta may set or read their own cookies when a user chooses social sign-in, and Mapbox may receive technical request information when maps are used. Card and payout flows are not active during the community-first launch; this notice will name the approved provider and its technologies before they are enabled.
Pawshare does not currently operate third-party behavioural advertising or non-essential analytics cookies on pawshare.co.uk. This statement must be rechecked before launch and whenever a new analytics, marketing, support, media, or experimentation provider is added.
Back to contents5. Consent
Technologies that are strictly necessary to provide a requested service can operate without optional consent where UK law permits. Pawshare must obtain valid consent before placing non-essential analytics, advertising, personalisation, or similar technologies. A consent manager must be introduced before any such technology is enabled.
Back to contents6. Browser controls
Users can remove Pawshare cookies and local storage through browser site-data settings. Blocking necessary authentication storage may prevent login, account security, booking, messaging, or saved preferences from working. Signing out removes Pawshare's active session where the product supports it, although provider sessions are controlled separately by Google, Meta, or another provider.
Back to contents7. Changes and contact
Pawshare will update this policy when its use of cookies, local storage, or third-party services changes. The final policy and any consent interface must be checked against a current browser-storage inventory before production launch.
