What is available now?Community care currently uses earned Paw Tokens. Card payments, mixed payments, cash buyback and professional bookings are not enabled in this version.
- 1For launch, we plan community and professional care, with card, Paw Tokens or both for eligible community care. Community carers receive Paw Tokens. No launch date is announced.
- 2Planned terms: £1 per Paw Token towards eligible care; a 20-token minimum for cash buyback; an initial 8% cash-buyback fee. These are future terms, not current wallet actions.
How can I reduce dog-walking costs?Sharing care can earn credits you can use towards your dog’s care.
- 1Provide eligible care for another member’s dog and earn Paw Tokens once the completed arrangement is verified.
- 2Apply those tokens at £1 each towards eligible care for your dog, reducing the amount you need to pay in cash.
- 3Social walks can build familiarity and friendships, but owner-attended walks do not automatically earn tokens.
Savings depend on the eligible care you provide, the care you book and local availability. Card and mixed payments are planned for launch.
Do I have to offer care to join?No. You can take part socially without committing to care.
- 1Join local conversations, discover shared walks and get to know people before deciding whether care is right for you.
- 2Creating an account does not commit you to caring for somebody else’s dog.
How do Paw Tokens work?Eligible completed care earns credits worth £1 each towards eligible care.
- 1Paw Tokens are Pawshare’s community care credits. Eligible completed care can add them to your wallet.
- 2At launch, use tokens at £1 each towards eligible care and pay any remaining eligible balance by card.
Availability is never guaranteed. The planned gross buyback value is also £1 per eligible token, before the flat 8% buyback fee.
Can I turn Paw Tokens into money?Helping local dogs can also earn extra money through cash buyback planned for launch.
- 1At launch, eligible Paw Tokens in your account can be submitted for buyback. Amounts created through a manual Pawshare adjustment are excluded.
- 2Each eligible token has a gross buyback value of £1. A flat 8% fee leaves 92p per eligible token.
- 3The minimum request is 20 Paw Tokens. You can make one request per day, with no other request cap.
- 4Photo ID and Stripe payout setup will be required. Pawshare may reject, hold, reverse or recover a request involving fraud, a dispute, cancelled care or an erroneous token award.
Cash buyback is not active in the current wallet. It will remain gated until the approved identity, payout, reconciliation and dispute controls are ready.
Can I request care before earning tokens?Yes. Card payments are planned for launch, even with a zero token balance.
- 1Choose suitable care and review the price before confirming the arrangement.
- 2Pay by card at launch, or use any Paw Tokens you hold and pay the eligible remainder by card.
Card and mixed checkout are planned for launch and are not active in the current checkout.
Do I need to own a dog?No. Dog lovers without their own dog are welcome.
- 1You can join the community, meet local dog people and take part socially without owning a dog.
- 2You can also provide eligible care and earn Paw Tokens, subject to the same care and completion rules.
What if no one is available nearby?Pawshare cannot guarantee coverage in every area.
- 1Widen your search or register your interest so Pawshare knows where local demand is growing.
- 2Do not rely on a care arrangement until another person has accepted it and the booking is confirmed.
How are professional carers different?Professional care is a separate planned paid service.
- 1Community care uses Paw Tokens and the planned token-buyback scheme.
- 2When enabled, professional providers will agree paid care with customers and receive cash for qualifying bookings under separate terms.
How do I know someone is suitable?Profiles and tools help, but they do not guarantee a good match.
- 1Review profiles and available checks, meet in public, discuss routines and use a Care Card for relevant details.
- 2Make your own decision and say no if the person, dogs or environment do not feel right.

Be candid about anything that could affect a walk, introduction or stay. A detailed profile helps prevent unsuitable matches.

Follow a booking from request to completionThe booking page is the shared record for the request, conversation and agreed care.

Meet safely for the first timeMake a first meeting public, practical and easy to leave if the fit is not right.
- 1Meet in daylight in a public place and tell someone where you are going.
- 2Keep control of your own dog and avoid transferring care at the first greeting.
- 3Discuss the care setting, household, routines, emergency plan and expectations directly.
- 4Leave and reconsider the arrangement if the person, place or dog interaction makes you uncomfortable.
Introduce dogs carefullyCompatibility is individual, so use gradual introductions and watch behaviour closely.
- 1Share each dog’s temperament, health, play style, triggers and history before meeting.
- 2Begin on neutral ground with space, parallel movement and one capable handler per dog.
- 3At home, manage doorways and keep food, beds, chews and valued toys separate at first.
- 4Pause the plan and seek qualified help if you are unsure about stress, guarding or aggression.
A friendly profile or previous walk does not remove the need to supervise new combinations of dogs.
Report a concern or block a memberUse Pawshare’s controls when content, contact or behaviour does not feel appropriate.
- 1Use the report action on the relevant member or content and choose the closest reason.
- 2Include concise, factual context that helps the concern be understood without sharing unnecessary private details.
- 3Block the member if you need to stop further contact or remove them from your experience.
- 4For an immediate risk, leave the situation and contact the appropriate emergency service before using in-app reporting.

Manage account settings and notificationsKeep your details current and choose which useful updates you receive.

Manage community privacyChoose who can see community activity and use mute or block when you need firmer boundaries.

- 2Choose the narrowest suitable audience when sharing information about your home, schedule or dog.
- 3Public local discovery is off by default. If you enable it, choose separately whether to show a limited public card, photo, broad postal district, selected dogs or public posts.
- 4A Public local post can be seen by signed-out visitors within about 10 miles. Pawshare asks again before publishing it, and Public local is never your automatic default.
- 5Use your Circle of Trust for explicitly chosen private connections rather than assuming every network link is private.
- 6Mute content you do not want to see, or block a member when you need to prevent contact and discovery.
Before posting a photo or update, check that it does not reveal addresses, access details or another person’s private information. Blocking a signed-in member cannot identify that person when they are signed out, so remove public content or turn off public sharing when it must no longer be public.
Request or delete your dataUse Pawshare’s privacy routes to understand, request or remove personal information.
